What is a DAS?
A Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) is a type of Debt Management Plan (DMP) overseen by the Scottish Government, only available to Scottish residents.
With DAS, you’ll repay everything you owe in affordable amounts, potentially over an extended period of time. You’ll do this through a Debt Payment Programme (DPP).
DAS works in a similar way to a DMP. You will make one affordable monthly payment, based on the amount available once you have paid your household bills. While your DPP is running, your details will be published on the DAS register which is available to the public.
Finding out more about DAS
How much you’ll pay every month into your DAS will depend on your own financial situation. The amount you pay will be dependent on the amount left once you have paid your household bills and any other costs. We’ll take you through everything you need to know with our ‘How does DAS work?’ page.
As we mentioned, DAS is only suitable for you if you are a Scottish resident. There are a few other conditions for getting one too. Find out what these are with our ‘How do I qualify for DAS?’ page.
Like all debt solutions, DAS has its drawbacks as well as its benefits. If you’re considering applying for DAS, it’s important that you have all the information you need. Our page ‘Is DAS right for me?’ should help you make this important decision.
Don’t worry if you’ve still got a few questions about DAS after you’ve read all of that. Our ‘DAS FAQs’ should help to answer some of the most common queries. You can always get in touch for some initial advice on dealing with your debts. Just give us a call on 0800 048 1764 or request a call back.
